our impact goals

In partnership with human rights, environmental, and community organisations we’re organising over 60 Franklin community screenings and taking the film into high schools across Australia. Our goal is to drive discussion and inspire action around the key issues facing us all.

Please help us make an impact with franklin by making a tax-deductible donation.

Supporting our partners

We aim for our impact screenings to support our partners to:

  • Build and activate their communities on local issues

  • Celebrate the proud history of the Franklin campaign and its 40 year anniversary

  • Highlight peaceful activism as effective and crucial to a healthy democracy

  • Celebrate bio- and human-diversity as essential to resilient, healthy communities and environments

  • Remind Australians that the rights we take for granted today were won by activists through protest

  • Encourage audiences to be active in protecting our environment and defending Australian’s right to protest

When the Franklin Dam project was proposed in the 1970s, the odds were strongly in favour of it being built.

Despite this, people declared that the Franklin River was too important not to fight for and as people spoke up and took action, the odds started to shift. The Franklin campaigners didn’t know they would win when they started.

Today, the campaign to stop the Franklin River from being dammed is considered one of the most significant campaigns in Australia's history. It demonstrated that when we come together, organise ourselves and build a movement, we change the course of history.
